Kuriston Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Smith was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Percy Jefferson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Humphreys County is 2-1 when Jefferson posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Xaylen Henderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Humphreys County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Deatrin Cooper, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Humphreys County's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Greenville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Greenville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Humphreys County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Greenville, though, as they've only averaged .169. Will they be able to contain Humphreys County's hitters?
