Desert Chapel added to the longest winning streak in Majestic (8 Man) this week by beating Calvary Baptist, 55-22. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Eagles.
Crossroads Christian and Palm Valley played the closest game in the league this week, with Crossroads Christian eventually emerging with a 62-58 victory. Nathan Ostrowski ran for 326 yards in the win.
Ostrowski was a beast in the backfield as Crossroads Christian bested the FIREBIRDS.
Sam Struthers threw for 394 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 29-48 with 1 interception.
Chase Doremus was the best receiver in the league this week as Palm Valley lost to Brett McIntosh's team. Doremus racked up 11 receptions for 186 yards. Matt Elliot helped Palm Valley's passing attack out by catching 10 balls for 94 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Taylor Dial. The Calvary Baptist star has 46 catches for 818 yards.
The top two teams in Majestic (8 Man) will face off this week when first place Desert Chapel takes on second place Crossroads Christian. Desert Chapel topped the Cougars last week, while Crossroads Christian bested Keith Reedy's team.
Calvary Baptist's Mark Garcia-Salas needs only 51 yards against Cornerstone Christian next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 131 carries Garcia-Salas has put up 949 yards this year.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the FIREBIRDS and Jim Donaldson's team face off next week. Struthers has thrown for 1,486 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Daniel Camargo has plagued opposing QBs to the tune of 5.5 sacks.
Next week's game between Palm Valley and the Eagles will feature an aerial matchup as Struthers tests his arm against Kyle Ettleman's defensive ability.
Desert Chapel took down Lincoln Dial's team 55-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
