Zephyrhills Christian Academy posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 victory over Cambridge Christian. With that win, Zephyrhills Christian Academy brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Zephyrhills Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Perez, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rogers Jones, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Northside Christian lost to Mount Dora Christian Academy at home by a decisive 66-48 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Northside Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Mount Dora Christian Academy is ranked 240th).
Zephyrhills Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Northside Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
