Heritage Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Greenville Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Heritage Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Heritage Christian put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season. They breezed by Poetry Community Christian on the road to the tune of 55-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Heritage Christian has posted since November 21, 2023.
Heritage Christian found their leader in underclassman Deanna Montgomery, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Brooklyn Darland was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenville Christian, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were beaten by First Baptist 69-8 last Tuesday. Greenville Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-2.
Heritage Christian pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.33 points. As for Greenville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Heritage Christian against Greenville Christian when the teams last played on January 9th as the team secured a 47-13 win.
