Basketball Recap: Rocky River Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Rocky River extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jacob Radcliffe. The Rocky River Pirates walked away with a 60-48 victory over the Bay Rockets on Friday thanks in part to Radcliffe, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Danny Berg was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Bay lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Collin Melvin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Melvin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Miller, who posted nine points.

Rocky River has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Rocky River has already played their next game, a 61-52 loss against Lakewood on the 4th. As for Bay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-50 win against Valley Forge on the 4th.
