After flying high against the White Deer Bucks last Friday, the Valley Patriots came back down to earth. Valley fell 40-32 to the Owls on Tuesday. Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Valley had strong showings from Kanyon Taylor, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Tucker Schlueter, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Schlueter posted two or more blocks.
Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-12. As for Silverton, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Claude the next time they take the court. Valley will host the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Owls will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
