Make it five blowout wins for the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays this season. They blew past Thunder Ridge 71-34 on the road on Tuesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-19.
St. John's/Tipton Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Edward Horinek led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Horinek is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Gates, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
The win makes it two in a row for St. John's/Tipton Catholic and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Thunder Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's/Tipton Catholic will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thunder Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs on Friday. Sylvan-Lucas will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
