Hatch was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 2A Region 4. The Bobcats beat Sunshine 40-0 earlier in the week.
Oakman moved up to 201 from 234 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-21 win over Northside.
Lamar County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dallas Cockerham threw for 46 and one touchdown and Timothy Harton had 38 yards receiving. On the ground Cockerham chipped in 94 yards. Jeremy Denton helped Lamar County's passing attack out by catching one ball for eight yards.
Denton made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs fell to Berry. The 6-foot-3 sophomore grabbed one interception and racked up one sack.
Hatch's De'Rodrick Norfleet and Brandon Jones have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Norfleet has thrown for 472 yards this season, while Jones, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has nine catches for 254 yards. Cockerham from Lamar County leads the league in rushing with 452 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Region 4 this week will be when Ken Adams's team takes on Aliceville. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in third, while the Yellowjackets are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Lamar County and Aliceville face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 159 this season, while the Yellowjackets have scored 159. Lamar County scored 42 points last week as it lost to the Wildcats.
Jammie Abrahams's team took down the Tigers 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
