After three games on the road, Freeman is heading back home. They will take on the Malcolm Clippers at TBD on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Freeman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-30 victory over Parkview Christian on the road. That 36 points margin sets a new team best for Freeman this season.
Meanwhile, Malcolm entered their tilt with Ralston with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Malcolm came out on top against Ralston by a score of 72-64 on Thursday. Given Malcolm's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Ralston is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malcolm got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Frank out in front who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frank has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Meyer, who scored 26 points.
Freeman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Malcolm, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Freeman came out on top in a nail-biter against Malcolm when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 58-55. Will Freeman repeat their success, or does Malcolm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
