In what's become a running theme this season, the Gill St. Bernard's Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trenton Catholic Academy 84-55 at home. The victory was nothing new for Gill St. Bernard's as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Trenton Catholic Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mayah Alford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Sondjane Dourdin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Gill St. Bernard's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gill St. Bernard's will challenge the Red Devil at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Knights are ranked fifth). Trenton Catholic Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
