Clopton is 10-0 against the Indians since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Clopton Hawks will be staying on the road to face off against the Van-Far Indians at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Clopton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 325 points over their last five games.
Clopton put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Louisiana 60-36. Given Clopton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Skylar Parker and Braya Smith were among the main playmakers for Clopton as the former scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals and the latter scored ten points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Noah, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Van-Far's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Montgomery County on the road and fell 57-25.
Clopton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Van-Far, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Everything came up roses for Clopton against the Indians in their previous meeting two weeks ago as the team secured a 74-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clopton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
