The Woodsboro Eagles's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-36 win over La Villa. The victory was just what Woodsboro needed coming off of a 72-46 defeat in their prior contest.
Woodsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Zena led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. Zena continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Amarian Zambezi was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Woodsboro pushed their record up to 5-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for La Villa, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Woodsboro won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goliad at 12:00 p.m. on December 15th. Goliad is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. La Villa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Floresville at 10:30 a.m. on December 15th. Floresville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Villa in Texas (Floresville is ranked 538th, while La Villa is ranked 1621st).
