Randolph-Clay fought the good fight in their overtime match against Seminole County on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Indians. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaleen Gibson, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Nyquavious White, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Calhoun County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 55-50 W over Mitchell County.
Randolph-Clay's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Calhoun County, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Randolph-Clay might still be hurting after the 59-39 loss they got from Calhoun County when the teams last played on January 5th. Can Randolph-Clay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
