Whitwell waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Van Buren County Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 29, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Jacob McCurry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

Whitwell's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Van Buren County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-4.
