This season hasn't been kind to the Swansea Tigers, who are still winless after their 12th game. They were the victim of a tough 57-37 loss at the hands of Pelion on Friday. Swansea lost against Pelion in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-54 score last time.
Despite the loss, Swansea still got an impressive performance from Donnell Goodwin, who scored 27 points. Goodwin scored a full 73% of Swansea's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Pelion got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolton Rogers out in front who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas New, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Swansea's defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. As for Pelion, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swansea and Dreher will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Dreher presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Swansea in South Carolina (Dreher is ranked 102nd, while Swansea is ranked 316th). As for Pelion, they will head out on the road to face off against Fox Creek at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Fox Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
