Holy Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 53-45 to the Monsignor McClancy Crusaders. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeeanna Pierantoni, who posted 20 points and eight boards. That was a full 44.4% of Holy Cross' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nafi Balde, who had eight points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Monsignor McClancy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Holy Cross will head out to face off against Nazareth at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monsignor McClancy, they will take on Somerset Academy - Canyons in a tournament on December 27th.
