5A Conference 12 recap October 1, 2013
Bird added to the longest winning streak in 5A Conference 12 this week by beating Monacan, 73-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Skyhawks.
Bird took down the Chiefs 73-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Manchester's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rose Daniel threw for 161 yards and Tennyson Donovan had 52 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel contributed 113 yards. Duhart Jonathan helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 47 yards.
Daniel put up the best numbers through the air as the Lancers defeated Clover Hill. Daniel's favorite target this week was Donovan, who caught 2 passes for 52 yards.
Manchester's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Daniel has thrown for 647 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Jonathan has 18 catches for 248 yards. Daniel also leads the league in rushing with 415 yards.
David Bedwell's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 73 points on Monacan.
