1A - North recap Oct. 3, 2012
Duchesne extended the longest winning streak in 1A - North this week by beating Summit Academy, 14-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Altamont and Monticello played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Altamont eventually emerging with a 22-20 victory.
Layton Christian Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Grayson Jackson threw for 37 yards and Ben Adie had 18 yards receiving. On the ground Diarrion Hinton chipped in 115 yards. Brock Rawlings helped Layton Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Noah Kramer made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles fell to Davis. The freshman forced one fumble.
Christian Miller has thrown for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Steven Harp has 12 catches for 290 yards. Brodi Strong leads the league in rushing with 560 yards.
The top two teams in 1A - North will face off this week when first place Duchesne takes on second place Rich. Last week, Duchesne beat Summit Academy, while Rich topped Milford.
The Rebels took down the Tigers 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
