Baseball Recap: American Heritage Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

American Heritage had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Rockledge Raiders on Monday as they made off with a 17-6 victory. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mark Aleman tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, American Heritage got a massive performance out of Dylan Dubovik, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Dubovik has posted since back in March. Jordan Rich was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

American Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

American Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Rockledge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-13.

American Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
