They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Ozona 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Owls have posted since April 26, 2024.
Brooklynn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Magaley Castillo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Gabby Cervantes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Reagan County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are 17-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Reagan County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3.
