The Warner Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Calexico Mission as Warner made off with a 72-46 win. The result was nothing new for Warner, who have now won five contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Warner found their leader in underclassman Anthony Porras , who scored 16 points along with nine steals and five assists. The match was Porras 's third in a row with at least ten points. Angel Carachure was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Calexico Mission saw an underclassman step up: Leonardo Longino scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Jacobo, who scored eight points.
Warner is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Calexico Mission, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warner will face off against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Calexico Mission will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Shores at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
