After four games on the road, Troup is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Laneville Yellowjackets at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Troup is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Laneville in Texas (Troup is ranked 541st, while Laneville is ranked 1218th).
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Troup beat Kerens 51-46.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Laneville had to settle for a 44-41 loss against Cushing on Tuesday.
Despite their loss, Laneville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. De'Marea Lewis, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Lewis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Troup's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Laneville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Troup strolled past Laneville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 45-26. Does Troup have another victory up their sleeve, or will Laneville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
