The Brooklyn Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 42-29 to Beachwood. Brooklyn found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Brooklyn still got an impressive performance from Ashlyn Dyson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Dyson scored a full 48.3% of Brooklyn's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Callahan, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beachwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Goldi Aschkenasy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Aschkenasy has scored at least 25% of Beachwood's points. Veronica Schwartz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Brooklyn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Beachwood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Brooklyn will be home for the holidays to greet Lutheran West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Beachwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ravenna at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
