Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) upset
Green Valley (Henderson, Nev.) 56-43 on the strength of
Tyler Newman, who tossed four touchdown passes.
After taking the lead on a Newman touchdown pass to
Bryan Roland in the second quarter, the Patriots led 22-16 at the half.
Liberty expanded its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Newman touchdown pass to
Drew Hladek.
Liberty's standout player in the win was Newman. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Green Valley defeated Las Vegas 47-34 last week.
