The West Florida Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-43 to Pensacola. If West Florida hoped to take revenge for the 52-35 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amani (AB) Bartholomew, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Bartholomew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Brooks, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
West Florida dropped their record down to 7-15 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Pensacola, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Florida will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fort Walton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Pensacola, they will take on Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Booker T. Washington will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
