The Trinity Christian Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Randolph-Macon Academy. Trinity Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Randolph-Macon Academy had a senior duo take command as Bilal Kebbay scored 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds and Chidera George dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. George is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Doku, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Trinity Christian dropped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Trinity Christian will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfax HomeSchool presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Gryphons in Virginia (the Hawks are ranked 105th, while the Gryphons are ranked 227th). As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m.
