Meanwhile, Hampden hadn't done well against Messalonskee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Cat Facchini was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Facchini was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Shaw and Kiera Gabric did most of the damage at the plate: Shaw went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Gabric went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mariah Coon, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Hampden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.
