The Fairfield/Augusta 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 45-18 loss at the hands of Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fairfield/Augusta in their matchups with Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson: they've now lost three in a row.
Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treyton Wilke led the charge by picking up 192 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Wilke's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Stockton Oxarart was another key contributor, throwing for 308 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
Fairfield/Augusta's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, Cut Bank, and Lincoln County. As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
