BILOXI, Miss. - After three lead changes,
Harrison Central (Gulfport, Miss.) took the lead for good when
Dwayne Barnett ran for a touchdown with 3:00 to go in the fifth quarter and held on to beat
Biloxi (Miss.) 49-42 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Danny Lewis touchdown run, the Indians went into halftime with a 21-14 lead. The Red Rebels took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by Barnett in the fifth quarter.
Despite scoring 14 points in the third, Harrison Central still trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped HC pull out the victory.
Byron Walker played well for the Gulfport school in the victory. The sophomore quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
With the win the Red Rebels extended their winning streak to three games.
Biloxi (4-5) will play a 6A Region 4 game against Hancock next week, while Harrison Central (6-3) will take on St. Martin also in a 6A Region 4 game.
