Baseball Recap: Franklin Community Has No Trouble Against Southport

Franklin Community had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Southport on Saturday. The Grizzly Cubs put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-1 win. The Grizzly Cubs haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Nash Netter was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsten Bland, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Franklin Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Franklin Community's record now sits at 9-4. As for Southport, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Franklin Community has already played their next match, a 13-2 win against Mooresville on the 30th. Southport has also already played their next contest (against Columbus North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
