The Breckenridge Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Coleman Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Breckenridge has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
St. Charles hit Breckenridge with a seven-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies lost 15-7 to the Bulldogs. The Huskies just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Leah Wale made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Lexi Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coleman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Montabella on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kendall Allen made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Allen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Isabelle Lewis was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
Coleman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Breckenridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Coleman, their record now sits at 5-3.
Breckenridge got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Coleman by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
