The Noxapater Tigers will face off against the Leake Central Gators at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Noxapater is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Noxapater turned things around against Columbus on Monday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 26-7 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Isabella Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Richardson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Emma Cremeen was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Ayla Ryals was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Noxapater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .763. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Leake Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to J.Z. George.
Leake Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kasa Tucker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Noxapater now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Leake Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Leake Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Noxapater hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Leake Central, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Noxapater's hitters?
Noxapater got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2024 against Leake Central by a conclusive 24-12 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
