The Community Christian Chargers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 65-29 loss at the hands of Liberty County. Community Christian lost against Liberty County in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-36 score last time.
Kashon Chambers was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Liberty County's points. Another player making a difference was Jason Walker, who scored 8 points.
Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Liberty County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wakulla Christian School at 6:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024. As for Liberty County, they will head out on the road to face off against Vernon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Vernon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Liberty County is ranked 97th).
