With a playoff game on the line, the Godby Cougars rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They breezed by the Jaguars on the road to the tune of 56-4. Godby has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Godby to victory were Cristina Brown and Kenijah Clayton. Brown scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Clayton scored 16 points along with eight steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Lewis, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Godby's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Gadsden County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Godby is on the road again on Friday and plays Rutherford on February 9th. Rutherford will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Godby surely won't give up without a fight. Gadsden County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
