Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Piles Up the Points Against York Prep

Queen's Grant waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 73-12 victory over the York Prep Patriots. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Queen's Grant was led to victory by Za'Miya Bynum and Misa Garris. Bynum dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 steals, while Garris dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. The contest was Bynum's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Smith, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points along with five blocks and four steals.

Queen's Grant's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for York Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Queen's Grant will take on Jackson Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for York Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chesterfield at 6:30 p.m.
