Shawnee extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Emma Young. The Shawnee Redskins strolled past the Century Centurions with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 48-31 thanks in part to Young, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. Young is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Alaina Charles, who posted five points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rebounds (four).

When it comes to explaining why Century lost, don't look at Nevaeh Mackins. Despite the final result, she put up 14 points. Jaylee Vanmeter was another key player, putting up seven points.

Shawnee pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Century, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee will host Cobden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shawnee is facing Cobden at the right time seeing as Cobden is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Century, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Murphysboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
