Baseball Recap: Frankfort's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Frankfort barely beat Keyser the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Golden Tornado a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Nething and Lanson Orndorf did most of the damage at the plate: Nething went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Orndorf went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Orndorf has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Durst was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

The win was the third in a row for Frankfort, bringing their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Keyser, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Looking ahead, Frankfort will head out to face off against Fairmont Senior at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Keyser, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m.
