Grand Island had won four straight games and Victor Fisher Jr. did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Grand Island Islanders came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 44-43 W against the Buena Vista Bison which was due in part to Fisher Jr., who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (five).

Riley Holling was another key player, putting up 11 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games he's played.

Grand Island's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-11. As for Buena Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Grand Island will head out to face off against Papillion-LaVista South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Papillion-LaVista South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matches. Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
