Riverpointe Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Dukes Jr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Dukes Jr's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Alante Manigo Jr was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and five steals.
Even though they lost, Riverpointe Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Riverpointe Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Northwood Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.
Riverpointe Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Hampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Riverpointe Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Northwood Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on High Point Academy at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th.
