Things were looking good for Jim Thorpe after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Panther Valley, falling 24-13. Olympians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since on Friday.
Hannah Zacharias made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylyn Costello, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Palmerton made easy work of Jim Thorpe on Thursday and carried off a 15-3 win. With that victory, the Blue Bombers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

MIKAYLA PENGELLY was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Palmerton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jim Thorpe only posted an OBP of .227.
Palmerton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Jim Thorpe, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
Jim Thorpe suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Palmerton when the teams last played on Thursday. Can the Olympians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
