Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask First Assembly Christian). They blew past the Whitehaven Tigers 18-3 on Friday. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Henry Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. What's more,  he posted four  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other pitching news,  Colt Trahan looked comfortable as he  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (three).
 Back at the plate,  Logan Furnas was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. He is becoming a predictor of First Assembly Christian's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 9-17-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Reece Saliba, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 First Assembly Christian was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .409. They are 7-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The  win made it two in a row for First Assembly Christian and  bumps their season record up to 12-17-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3  runs in those games. As for Whitehaven, they now  have a losing record of 5-6-1.
 Looking ahead, First Assembly Christian will challenge Harding Academy at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.36  runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Whitehaven, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Sheffield  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
