Monarch is 8-2 against Loveland since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Monarch Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Loveland Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Monarch will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Monarch proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 22) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Erie and snuck past 49-46. Given Monarch's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Erie is ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Monarch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Carlson out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Laverty, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Loveland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 54-48 to Northglenn.
Monarch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Loveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Monarch couldn't quite finish off Loveland when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 71-69. Can Monarch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
