Great Oak and Temecula Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wolfpack will host the Golden Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Temecula Valley will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Great Oak extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Wolfpack came out on top against Chaparral by a score of 10-5. That's two games straight that the Wolfpack have won by exactly five runs.

Roy Kim looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wes Shanabarger, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Valenzuela, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Great Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.4.
Temecula Valley hadn't beaten Murrieta Mesa on the road since April 26, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Golden Bears blew past the Rams 13-5. With that victory, the Golden Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Scott Forest looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Temecula Valley got a massive performance out of Stone Tucker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Isiah Rauseo was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Great Oak's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Temecula Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Great Oak has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Temecula Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Great Oak skirted past Temecula Valley 6-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
