If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Animas. They will take on Lake Arthur at home at 6:00 PM on Friday. Lake Arthur will need to watch out since Animas have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Animas got themselves on the board against Hondo Valley last Friday, but Hondo Valley never followed suit. Animas were fully in charge, breezing past Hondo Valley 54-0. Followers of Animas probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Lake Arthur, but their most recent match may have softened the blow. They took down Floyd 41-24.
Their wins bumped Animas to 5-0 and Lake Arthur to 2-4. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Animas and Lake Arthur will really light up the scoreboard.
