DASH is 1-7 against South Wake since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The DASH United's road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Wake Sabres at 8:30 p.m. on January 26th.
DASH suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Chatham HomeSchool on the road and fell 88-34. DASH was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-14.
Meanwhile, South Wake stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat O'Neal 80-23 at home. The win was familiar territory for South Wake who now have three in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Avery Lubenco, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Lawson Jurgens was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
DASH now has a losing record at 8-9. As for South Wake, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
DASH was taken down by South Wake 76-33 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jurgens, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Now that DASH knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
