Temple Christian Academy easily dispatched Harvest Community on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Despite the loss, Temple Christian Academy got top-tier performance from Daiyon Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Williams has been hot, having posted 11 or more boards the last six times he's played. Maximus Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.
Meanwhile, Yulee suffered their biggest defeat since January 18th on Friday. They came up short against Hilliard, falling 75-50. The Hornets have struggled against the Red Flashes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Temple Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Carter Kirchner, one of several Yulee players who made an impact when they last played. He posted nine points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Gibbs, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Yulee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.
