Loss or not, Elysian Fields got some senior leadership from McKenzie LeBlanc who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and Kerrigan Love who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Love pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Rusk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keke Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 steals. Murphy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Sophia Lacy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
Elysian Fields has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for West Rusk, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Elysian Fields will head out on the road to face off against Arp at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Arp is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. West Rusk will be home for the holidays to greet Waskom at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Waskom presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Rusk in Texas (Waskom is ranked 489th, while West Rusk is ranked 1166th).
