This season hasn't been kind to the Carol City Chiefs, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a serious blow against Central on Wednesday, falling 70-1. Carol City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Corianna Warner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, scoring 21 points. The contest was Warner's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Damaria Gatlin, who scored 12 points.
Carol City's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carol City will be home for the holidays to greet North Miami Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Miami Beach's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Carol City's offense will have their work cut out for Carol City. Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Saint Andrew's at 7:10 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
