The Carmel Corsairs will head out on the road to face off against the Antioch Sequoits at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Carmel is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, Carmel made easy work of Saint Viator and carried off a 54-31 victory. Given Carmel's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Saint Viator is ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Antioch ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Woodstock by a score of 54-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Antioch.
Antioch's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Macie Volkmar, who scored 14 points, and Heidi Rathmann, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Rathmann's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hailey Caya, who scored six points.
Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Antioch's record is now 9-3.
