The Shadow Hills Knights''s four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 34-21 victory over Palm Desert. For Shadow Hills, this counts as revenge for the 21-0 loss Palm Desert walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Shadow Hills can attribute much of their success to Pedro Trujillo, who gained 171 total yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 36 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Greg Hollis, who threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns.
Shadow Hills' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Jermiah Peffers and Blake Burgie who racked up four sacks between them.
Despite the defeat, Palm Desert saw an underclassman step up: Nicholas Dangleis picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown. Ryland Risk got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Shadow Hills' win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Palm Desert, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Shadow Hills will challenge La Quinta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palm Desert, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palm Springs at 7:00 p.m.
